The League

On April 30th, 2024, Alexandra Berkhoff, the Chancellor of Kivu; and Sydney Johnson, the President of Jackson, met to discuss plans for possible retaliation against New Illyricum, should the election vote recount fail to be satisfactory to the allies.

In that meeting, Berkhoff and Johnson agreed to put the following plan into action:

- Extort New Illyrian congressional delegates, particularly those from the Vanguardist Party (AP), to vote for the Democratic Party Grand Marshall candidate, Luçeo Mareo. Their intelligence agencies would be allowed to use whatever information they were able to find.

- A 3 day Vagabond flyover of the region, that would include stops in Terranihil and Abersiania to show solidarity with their allies in the region. The flyover would conclude with a multi-hour flyover of the New Illyrian capital on the day of the Grand Marshall election.

They hoped that this plan would result in an outcome favorable enough for the allies that a military conflict could be avoided, as a conflict in this part of the world would be devastating for anyone involved…

A group of 5 intelligence agents, from both Jackson and Kivu, had been brefied on their assignment, the day following the meeting. They had taken the first available commercial flights from Jackson to Terranihil, each agent on a different flight to a different location. The next day, they rented cars and drove to the rendezvous point, a small town near the New Illyrian border. There they had waited until nightfall, they snuck out of down and hiked the 5 miles to their target, an abandoned farmhouse that their supervisors had selected for them to run the operation from. It was remote, far away from any people, the perfect place for an operation like this.

Now, they were making the final preparations before they would make their first attempt at extorting a New Illyrian congressional delegate into voting for, Luçeo Mareo, the Democratic Party’s Grand Marshall Candidate in the Grand Marshall election, that would happen in just 2 days time.

A Kivuian agent picked up the phone, and called Johano Filipo, a delegate from Alephonicum SS:

Kivuian agent: Hello, is this Johano Filipo?

Filipo: Yes. How can I help you?

Agent: I would like to offer you a deal. I have uncovered some… Let’s say unsatisfactory information about you… I’m guessing you would prefer that the public doesn’t find out about this, correct?

Filipo: Who are you, and what information do you have?

Agent: I am either your friend or your enemy, it is up to you to decide which one I am. As for the information, well let’s say your wife probably won’t be too happy if she found out…

Filipo: Sighs heavily, knowing exactly what they had found What do I need to do to prevent you from releasing the… ummm… information…

Agent: In exchange for not releasing the information, I would need you to vote for Luçeo Mareo in the Grand Marshall election on Sunday. If you fail to vote as I ask, or I find out that you tell anyone about this conversation, I will be delivering proof of your um misdeeds to the New Illyrian Media. Do we understand each other?

Agent: Well, I don’t think the government will be too happy to find out that you’ve been stealing money from them.

Grata: I find it unlikely that some rando… I don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Agent: I would offer you a trade, but it doesn’t sound like you would be interested.

Grata: What would this trade be?

Agent: I won’t release the information I have, in exchange, I need you to vote for Luçeo Mareo in the Grand Marshall election on Sunday. If you fail to vote, or tell anyone about this conversation, the media will be receiving this news Gun clicks

Boupo: Fine. What do you want me to do?
